Black Jesus
Okafor Alexander Junior, popularly known as Black Jesus, is a Nigerian artist with a
deep-rooted passion for music. Born and raised in Lagos State, he hails from Ika North-East,
Delta State. He is the fourth of six children born to Chief Alexander Okafor and Mrs.
Bernadette Jessica Okafor.
Black Jesus was born on September 2nd and pursued higher education at Lagos State
University, earning a BSc in Public Administration. He also holds a degree in
Psychotherapy.
Musical Journey & Early Life
Black Jesus discovered his love for music at the young age of five, beginning his journey by singing in church. Unlike many Nigerian musicians, he was never discouraged from pursuing music, though his parents emphasized the importance of prioritizing his education.
Despite this, he secretly nurtured his talent, often sitting at the dinner table with his younger sister, Ameg, writing songs while pretending to study. His dedication led him to professional vocal training in Lagos, where he sharpened his craft.
Beyond music, he explored various paths, including business and pastoring, though he later stepped away from the latter for personal reasons.
